Pokemon Diamond-Pokedex No. ???

I just got Pokemon Diamond yesterday and I just got the first badge and I went to the Wi Fi club to trade with my friend and he sent me a Lileep for my Geodude. But when I got the Lileep, the Pokedex No. was ???. Is this because I don't have the National Dex? Has this glitched my game? Is this bad at all?
