Can I throw the soliciting ads in my mailbox on the ground?

All the local values, savings and sales. I don't own them, do I? I don't want them, I never asked for them, yet they keep sending me all this garbage. Can I just take them out of my apartment's mailslot and drop them on the ground, since I do not own them, I didn't ask for them or declare ownership of them?
