Guys like short haired girls?

My boyfriend and I got together when he had a beard and when I had super short hair. It was the kind that had the spikes in the back, which is weird for me cuz I have had long hair to like my all my life, anyway I like guys with goatees and he likes long hair. All though we had stupid unattractive looks we still found each other and we will be getting married soon. We've been together for almost 2 yrs.
